Goodreads asked Lucy Patton:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Lucy Patton The best thing about writing is the sense of accomplishment, of doing something that you truly love.

Anyone who tells you writing a book is easy is wrong. It's a journey, sometimes a difficult one, but you have to love it to do it. It's also a responsibility. The longer you spend on a book, the more invested in the characters you become. You have to take care of them while servicing the story.

Finally, I like the power that comes with writing. I've always been a writer, ever since I was a small child. But it's taken my whole life to acquire the skills and life experience needed to finally create stories for publishing. The power over my work, the control needed is daunting and exhilarating at the same time.
