Goodreads asked P.B. Morlen:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

P.B. Morlen Meeting new characters, then, peeling the layers of their personality. Are they damaged? Are they helpful? Are they concealing something? I live this. I could create characters into forever. And, I love going into new scenes with a fresh perspective. Changing up the dialogue. Hacking off chunks of scenes too wordy. The editing process, for me, is empowering. I have the final say in my story. The characters are mine. The story is mine, straight from somewhere deep within my soul. It's amazing when I read what I've written and often wonder where in the world did this stuff come from.
