How do you get inspired to write?

Becca St. John Although I would love to outline my books, it never works. A few paragraphs in and I'm already deviating from the plan. So every time I sit down to write, it's to a blank page with no ideas. I start by 'chatting' with the book, the characters, typing things like, "Where should we go from here? So-in-so is in a tough spot and we just saw who's-you-call-it doing something and ..." Pop! The scene will start running and I'll barely be able to keep up. It’s really awesome and terrifying way to write.
