Goodreads asked Pam Young:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Pam Young Writer's block usually means I'm not really in love with the project I'm doing or that I have ambivalent feelings about it. When it (the block) happens, I ask myself "Why are you writing this?" and the answer should be in a single sentence, an elevator pitch kind of thing. If I can't do that, I know I'm not clear and anything I do write will be without focus. I get clear by doing something else -- like house-cleaning!
