Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

S.J. Kimberly Elements of this story have been percolating in the back of my mind for many years. I'd written half a book a few years ago that took place in this same universe, two millennium earlier. In February of 2015 I had the opportunity to spend some time with my grandmother, an amazing woman who served in the Women's Army Corp during WWII. I got to hear all of her adventures and stories one more time, about how she'd gone from being an awkward teen to establishing her own school for EEG techs, and how her time in he army gave her the confidence and training she needed to make that happen. I week after our visit, she died. That March, I became serious about really sitting down and writing this book, and I think Ana's growth as a person has a lot to do with my grandmother's stories
