Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Suzanne Floyd Smoke & Mirrors is my most recent book about a young woman just starting out in her career as a policewoman. That is something I always wanted to be, other than an author. When I was in my twenties, policewomen weren't as accepted as they are now. I thought it would be interesting to see what would happen putting her in a small town with rather 'backward' ideas of what a woman should do. The characters take over the story leading me where they want to go.
