Creating worlds and stories straight from the ether of your imagination. It's playtime, almost the same as when we're kids. Any fiction writer who is not having fun doing what they're doing probably shouldn't be doing it. It's hard work, to be sure, but the fun of creation is certainly the best thing about being a writer.
