Don't ever give up. And don't lose yourself in all of the information out there that says you have to do things a certain way or it's wrong. Finding out what works for you is your right way. The only other thing I would add is be consistent - set a daily goal, even a small one (500 words, 30 minutes writing time) and guard it fiercely.
