I'm currently working on a nonfiction book called 44 Years in Darkness: The Rhoda Derry Story. It's about one of the patients at the Peoria State Hospital. Rhoda's story is so compelling, I felt it had to be told in detail. I'm really intrigued by this young woman ... I won't say I'm enjoying writing the book, because that's not exactly the right word. Let's say rather that I'm learning a lot while writing the book.
