Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Phoenix C. Brown Back to Basics came to me from a few different angles. I was listening to a song by Leela James called "Fall for you" and scenes started flowing through my head. I wrote them down and left them alone. Then I overheard a conversation on how to deal with some issues at work and the person said, "We just need to get back to the basics."
That stuck with me and Kenya's character was born. I took back to basics and wanted to use it in a few different ways in relation to her story as well as Kevin's.
