I love your books! :) The Golden Braid was just what I needed to read at the time that I read it. It blessed my life. Thank you for sharing it! Do your characters ever do anything that surprise you? Or does everything usually go to plan when writing?

Melanie Dickerson I've never let my characters hijack my story and take it somewhere I don't want to go, but I have had little surprise ideas. I always try to think what each character would do in whatever situation they are faced with, and so that does affect the story. So yes, occasionally, on a small scale, my characters may surprise me. Honestly, I don't plan out my stories in detail. I have certain things that I know are going to happen, and an ending to shoot for, so to some extent, the entire middle of the story is a surprise. :-) I hope that makes sense, because I am sort of a seat-of-the-pants writer.
