What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

A.D. Starrling Do your research about the publishing industry. The writing community is generally warm and welcoming, so don't be afraid to ask questions: we were all beginners at one point. Don't sign any contract without getting it looked at by an intellectual property lawyer. Do NOT expect overnight success. If you're in this for the long haul, expect to work hard at it. It will take several books before you start to see any significant career growth. The only genre in which you could possibly start to earn faster than average is romance.
