Goodreads asked Mark Evans:

How do you get inspired to write?

Mark Evans Thankfully, I don't suffer from writer's block. The mundane answer is the more you write, the more you can write. Working on something as long as a novel requires a lot of effort at the beginning, but once it gains its own momentum there's no stopping it.
I will say that I get inspiration for 'stories' every day - from newspaper articles, snippets of conversation, daydreaming, movies. The more you turn nuggets of stories into fully fledged yarns the better you get at it. I suppose it's a bit like a comedian will automatically find the humour in everything they encounter; writers find the yarn in every experience.
