Goodreads asked Sandra Fox Murphy:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Sandra Fox Murphy My first novel, A Thousand Stars, was inspired by a tale in my son's family tree. But, now, I'm working on a Texas series that was inspired by a log cabin and tombstones in a small, old cemetery near where I live. In researching this family's story, the young girl's story spoke to me, and, thus, the first book in the series, Let the Little Birds Sing, deals with a young girl's journey through grief. In researching Fidelia's story, I could only imagine the hardship faced by our county's early pioneers as they faced harsh lands and weather, attacks by rogues and native tribes, and incredible loss of life. As I prepare to write the 3rd book of the series, Mourning of the Dove, I am deep in research of Texas and the Civil War.
