Goodreads asked Geraldine Evans:

How do you get inspired to write?

Geraldine Evans It's my living, so I'd better be inspired! That's not as facetious an answer as it sounds, BTW. I'm professional in my attitude to writing, so I can't wait for inspiration. Instead, I ask those famous questions of my characters: Who, what, when, where and why (I think I've remembered the right order), which is, more or less, a straight quote from Rudyard Kipling, a British writer of The Jungle Book, etc. Try asking those questions, and I think you'll be amazed how many ideas pop up.
