Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Cathryn Grant I'd been noticing for a while that people tend to talk at each other rather than with each other when they're using social media. I'd read some articles about how Facebook can contribute to feelings of envy and inferiority.

A character who felt envious of others' happiness came to mind, as well as a character who was addicted to social media. As I worked on their back stories, I started to realize the most interesting way to tell the story was in first person from multiple viewpoints. From there, I decided to weave in fictitious social media updates.
