Goodreads asked Jessica A. Scott:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Jessica A. Scott Writer's block is tough. The "cure" for it, though, depends on what kind of writer's block it is. Is it the kind where you CAN write, but you feel like everything you write is stupid or a waste of paper? Or is it the kind where you just can't seem to get ideas or find out where your story wants to go? In both cases, the solution is to just keep writing. I usually try to work on something else, something that doesn't matter as much, just to keep my brain thinking creatively. Sometimes that helps me to find my way back to inspiration, but sometimes I just have to wait for the story to start to talk to me again, to tell me where it wants to go. In the end, the only cures for writer's block are patience and perseverance, even if every writer (me included) wishes that there was some sort of magic pill to take instead!
