Goodreads asked Donald Morrison:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Donald Morrison I don't write.
I know it's unorthodox, and every blog or article that you come across on the web will tell you that no matter what, you just need to start writing and push through it. I don't follow that mindset. I write when I feel inspired to write. If I'm having a case of writers block I close the computer and go on about my day. There's sometimes where weeks or even a month or two will go by where I'm just not "feeling it". I don't like spending time writing words that are going to get tossed aside or deleted later. I'd rather wait until my focus is there, inspiration hits and I can work to my full potential. Of course, everyone is different, and it's probably a good practice to write every single day in order to improve your skills, but myself. I write when inspired, not just for the sake of writing.
