Goodreads asked Terri Bruce:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Terri Bruce I've found that writers' block is my subconscious telling me something isn't working with the story - there's a logical fallacy/plot hole to what is happening, someone isn't behaving true to character, I've written myself into a corner, etc. The only way to deal with it is to figure out what went wrong - which is easier said than done. A lot of the time I have to just wait for the answer to bubble to the surface. Sometimes I can aid my conscious mind in figuring out what the problem is by jumping ahead in the story and writing subsequent scenes that I feel good/confident about. That often will reveal what the problem is - a character who will do "Y" later in the story couldn't possibly have done "X" earlier or there is no way for the characters/plot to get from point X to point Y. Once I figure out what the problem is, poof!, the writer's block is gone and I'm back on track.
