Hard to answer this, as I am still very much an aspiring writer myself! Just keep at it, don't be too precious about your work; defend it by all means but don't be blind to its faults. Learn our craft as you go (I am) and enjoy it. If you are bored or disillusioned by what you have written, chances are your reader will be too. Rewrites can be tiresome, but don't be afraid to do them - you might be glad you did!
