How do you deal with writer’s block?

Mary Alice Monroe Oh, the dreaded writer's block! When it strikes, I go to the water. Thankfully, I live on an island near Charleston, South Carolina. I'm walking distance from the Atlantic Ocean and tidal creeks, and the Intracoastal Waterway. The vista re-centers my mind. It is out in nature where I draw my inspiration.

Having a book series, is it hard to let your characters go? I know you are writing another book based on The Lowcountry series. (Which thrilled me when I heard about it.) I have enjoyed these characters so much, that I am sad to see the series end.
