Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Madeleine D'Este The Antics of Evangeline series was initially inspired by the writing of Gail Carriger (such fun!). Then I heard a fact - Melbourne (where I live) was the second largest city in the British Empire in 1882. This sparked the idea of setting a steampunk story in Melbourne.
Then I drew on my own love of the weird, the wonderful and the supernatural with a touch of silliness. And Evangeline was born.
