How do you get inspired to write?

Manda Mellett That's a difficult question. Something sparks an idea in my head - it could be a memory of my past, something someone says, or something I see on the news. The idea seems to take root, and when I'm walking, driving, shopping or anything really, I think about it and it grows into something bigger. Usually the first idea is about a character, sometimes it's about a plot. Writing a series I've a wealth of characters to call on, so sometimes it's about getting the clarity of where I want to take the next one. We all daydream, for me it's fodder for my writing.
