Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Ra Avis Sack Nasty is a true story based on my incarceration. I decided to write this version of the full story first for many reasons. It encapsulates all the really awful things I experienced which allows for a lot of healing for me, and the readers and friends and families who survived the experience with me. It stands as a guide for topics that I'd like to bridge into larger conversations. It is also my buffer for those who I'd rather not sit and tell these types of stories to-- they can, as my publisher says, #BuyTheBook.
