My most recent book, TO BE A PILGRIM, was a book I didn't want to write at all. It is kind of a modernization of John Bunyan's THE PILGRIM'S PROGRESS, a project a friend asked me to endeavor to undertake. I immediately dismissed the idea as The Pilgrim's Progress is my very favorite book in the wide world (after the Bible). After about 5 years or more, I finally decided I would attempt it... prompted by a conversation about John Bunyan and his allegory when one of the hearers asked, "When does Babe the Blue Ox come in?" Hearing that, I knew it was time this new generation to become familiar with Bunyan's wonderful work.
