It is kind of a modernization of John Bunyan's THE PILGRIM'S PROGRESS, a project a friend asked me to endeavor to undertake. I immediately dismissed the idea as The Pilgrim's Progress is my very favorite book in the wide world (after the Bible). After about 5 years or more, I finally decided I would attempt it... prompted by a conversation about John Bunyan and his allegory when one of the hearers asked, "When does Babe the Blue Ox come in?" Hearing that, I knew it was time this new generation to become familiar with Bunyan's wonderful work.(less)

“Every good work, kind deed and Christian practice that exalts itself and draws attention away from Christ crucified is a damnable exercise from the start to finish.”
Jon J. Cardwell, Christ and Him Crucified: The Gospel Truth of Jesus Christ in His Death, Burial and Resurrection According to Scripture

“Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.” Revelation 22:7”
Jon J. Cardwell, Sermon Outlines for Revelation: Message Outlines Prepared for the Study of God's Word in the Book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ

“If we would only cling to Him and submit to the Spirit of Christ as much as we did our erroneous traditions, we might find ourselves walking in the Spirit, moment by moment, in the Spirit’s power with the reality of the truth that the cross of Jesus Christ, according to God’s holy Word, is all that matters in the universe. Therefore, when we preach the cross, express God’s truth, read God’s Word, teach our children, and so forth, we don’t need to draw pictures, paint portraits, show videos, graphically illustrate, creatively demonstrate, or use ingenious and appealing tricks, methods, or gimmicks for it to be understood by those that hear. When we operate in such a way, by the power of God’s Spirit, it’s called... yeah, that’s right— faith.”

“The law of God was more vindicated by the death of Christ than it would have been had all transgressors been sent to Hell. For the Son of God to suffer for sin was a more glorious establishment of the government of God, than for the whole race to suffer.”
Charles Spurgeon

“No matter that you have a PhD and have read all of Henry James twice. If you still persist in writing, "Good food at it's best", you deserve to be struck by lightning, hacked up on the spot and buried in an unmarked grave.”
Lynne Truss, Eats, Shoots & Leaves: The Zero Tolerance Approach to Punctuation

“I don't have time to write you a short letter, so I'm writing you a long one instead.”
Mark Twain

“Where there is no gospel, there is no church!”
Jeffrey D. Johnson, THE CHURCH: Why Bother?: The Nature, Purpose, & Functions of the Local Church

“The church will not be judged by the number of baptisms or upon the size of its membership, but upon how faithful it has been to teaching the whole counsel of God.”
