William asked Elizabeth Percer:

The characters in your novels are so richly created in a way that makes me, as a reader, feel like I know them. How do you manage to let your characters go at the end of the writing process?

Elizabeth Percer Hi William!

I'm not sure I do let them my characters go. It's more like they let me go, kind of like condescending teenagers patting you on the head and telling you you've done a great job before stranding you in the home you've been sharing for what seems like forever. That said, there is a point at which I recognize that the story I've written for them has run its course, and that to stay with it any longer is to do a disservice to us both.

As a side note, if anything, I miss my minor characters the most, as I get to spend the least amount of time with them. ;)

Yours,

Elizabeth
