Goodreads asked Billie Webb:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Billie Webb I remember taking a writing class in college. My professor loved my work and wanted to read it to the class just about every time we met. Although some people may have felt honored, I actually felt completely exposed and even violated. At the end of that semester I decided that I did not want to be a writer because it laid my soul bare to the world. I was too private of a person to do that! Twenty + years later, I finally grew out of that. What a waste of time! So my advice to an aspiring writer is this: be prepared to feel exposed, but do it anyhow.
