I loved Kiss of Deception! And I can't wait for The Beauty of Darkness. Do you have any advice for young writers that want to make it in the big world? Thanks :)
Mary E. Pearson
Absolutely. Read, which if you are on goodreads, I am sure you are already doing! Reading is one of the best preparations for writing. But also write--don't just think about writing and say you will do it when you have time--make the time! And on a regular basis. Writing begets writing. Become your own best critic. Be honest with yourself about what is not working. Read books on the craft of writing! Learn from other authors. I have a huge library of books on the craft of writing. I can't resist learning how other writers attack their craft. I learn something from each one. If you go to my website, marypearson.com, you will see a "For Writers" page. I list a few books and resources there.
Be persistent and patient. It takes YEARS to hone your craft, and that is the joy, in watching your writing tool chest grow. There is always more to learn.
Go for it!

When you were writing The Remnant Chronicles (and now the Dance of Thieves duology!), was there a specific country/region in our world that corresponded to the kingdoms and regions in theirs? I read DANCE OF THIEVES first and figured out pretty quickly that we're the Ancients, and the last few pages of THE BEAUTY OF DARKNESS confirmed it:)
