Goodreads asked Fallon DeMornay:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Fallon DeMornay Falling in love with your characters. They truly do become real people and whenever I hit 'The End', the grief is a very real thing, too, because I'll miss them and their voices inside of me.

When I watched the film Big Fish - **spoiler** in the closing scene where the writer dies and is greeted on the riverbank by all of his characters as they usher him into the afterlife, I had a moment of envy and awe - because that's what I want more than anything. To meet all my characters and see them face to face. To have that moment with them. Maybe when my time comes, they will rise to greet me as well ;)
