Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Matthew Robinson The stories that make up The Horse Latitudes are explorations of the thoughts and feelings that linger from my own deployment. Taking a moment from memory and dismantling its realism, reforming it through fiction, and seeing what changes, what stays the same, what new thing I can still learn from it, provides a catharsis I have been seeking since I returned from Baghdad. And as I began sharing them with readers, the conversation grew deeper, required further exploration, until, in direct dialogue with the questions I was encountering from my family and friends, my side of the discussion became a book.
