Edie Ishii
Edie Ishii asked Matthew Hughes:

Hello, Thank you very much for creating deep, funny and wonderful stories. Your books and stories have helped me through some very terrible times. I re-read them frequently. You even have your own shelf. I have your newest book " Wizard's Henchman". Your style seems changed. I was wondering if you had an editor constraining you on that one? I enjoyed the book, but missed your humor. Cheers Edie

Matthew Hughes Hello, Edie:

I'm glad I have been useful and I hope you have no more terrible times.

I write in different styles that are intended to fit the characters and the "mood" of the book. A Wizard's Henchman is about a hardboiled private eye -- a "confidential operative" -- who goes through some rather awful times of his own and finally confronts a serious evil.

So, no constraining editor. I consider myself a crime writer trapped in a fantasy author's career, and occasionally I like to write a little Sam Spade. Erm Kaslo is one of those occasions.

Thank you for reading me.

Cheers,

Matt
