Write. Don't stop writing until you are done with the book. Don't edit or read through your work too often.
I find with myself, I always put really unrealistic deadlines and though it seems crazy to most, to me it is my driving force. I like to work with stress, I write better when I am under pressure. So find what works for you. I always tell my kid, that we are all different. Because something is suitable for you, or you are good at stuff, doesn't mean it is the same for someone else.
I think as individuals we need to actually learn to accept peoples individuality and learn to use that not only in our personal lives but also in writing.
A strong Character in any book that your write is a necessity, no matter how small part that character plays.
I once started writing a book and initially I added a small piece for a character that was important at that time, but I had no intention of the character playing a longer role. A few weeks later, I had this thought and the small character ended up becoming a lead in The Satan Sniper's MC.
Talk less, and write more. I hear so many people telling me that they are working on their debut novel, I don't want to hear about it, I want to read it.
If someone offers you assistance, take it.
Don't let your ego get in the way.
Take risk.
We are the mirror of our thoughts so think positive ones.
Listen to the opinions of others, but if it doesn't help you grow, let it go.
Never say that you are too tired, too busy today to write, there is an app that helps you voice to text, you can make notes while you cook, or change or go to gym.
Don't feel guilty if you wrote one page instead of 5. 'You wrote one page' that is better than nothing. Remember there are 365 days in a year, one page a day is a novel a year.
Quality is better than quantity.
But with all that said, the best advice I will give you is wake up early and for ten minutes sit up and breathe. Tell yourself that today is the day you are going to accomplish one more step towards your goal.
