How do you get inspired to write?

Deborah Coonts I bound out of bed in the morning excited to get to the computer and see what crazy things my characters will do today. No inspiration needed. Of course, if I get to waylaid by research or marketing, the tyranny of a deadline is enough terror to send me scurrying into a story.
