I have close friends who have adopted two horribly abused little girls.
They, unlike most of us, did not sit by and do nothing. In spite of the risks involved, they took action. It has not been an easy thing. The generosity and love they have shown is one of the most inspiring things I have ever witnessed. That love, contrasted with the rage they have felt as the depth of the damage done to their new daughters has become apparent, is the yin and yang of life concentrated into almost tangible form.
We all experience regrets and doubts about the choices we make; particularly around the ones we love.
Wouldn't it be great if we found the courage to make a sacrifice, do the right things, and get a second chance?
