This is the most cliché thing in the entire world, but write what you know and what you love. I tried writing crime fiction and it felt like I was ripping the story out of me - and not in a good way. Writing Addie's story, even when my brain doesn't want to cooperate, still feels like the most natural and wonderful thing in the world.
