How do you get inspired to write?

Catherine Hackman I will hear a snippet of conversation, see a headline in a story, and think what if . . .? My short story published in Blood Lotus Magazine: "Clowns with Mustaches" was inspired by a talk I had with some parents while chaperoning a lock-in. We were talking about a swing set, and one of the parents said, "What was buried under the swing set?" Wow! I had a story.
