How do you name your characters? Do you do any research or just name them by instinct?

Kavya Janani U. Naming! That's my favourite part of writing a story and I take extra care. The name of a protagonist should stand out and remain in the minds of the readers for a long time. So, I research a few names in the Internet or just go with my mind voice when it quips in unusual names.
