Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Emme Cross As soon as the St. Barts series is done (hopefully all six will be out by Valentines) I will focus on Leon 4B12. There were a number of inspirations. Margaret Atwood's A Handmaiden's Tale; ISIS insisting on female genital mutilation in captured Iraqi cities; stories of female subjugation in too many parts of the world. What would happen, I wondered, in a matriarchal society? That is the basis for the book.
