I finally received the third book in your series. My whole public library system did not carry your books, until I (and I am sure others) requested that they purchase your books. Now they have many copies of all your books. Two of my favorite characters are the two little boys. Where did you get the inspiration for the two little math whizzes that are autistic? I'm a fan and will read any future fiction from you.

Hi Richard,
Thanks for reading and encouraging your library to carry my books!
I worked with groups focused on autism at UNC-Chapel Hill and learned a lot about the field--both advances in research and new approaches. That work really got me interested in including autism in the story.
It's hard to say where the inspiration for my characters comes from; I try to base them on a combination of people in my real life so that they're not too close to any one person. I'll say that as a kid, I was really into math (and reading a bit later). Computer programming was my first job (I founded an internet start-up in college) and got to work with some engineers who were super smart (and likely a lot like those math whizzes from the novel when they were younger). There's no doubt a bit of me and a lot of them in those particular characters. Thanks again.

Lost in Time. Little confused. Old Adeline (Daniele) sends young Adeline back to 2008. Is this an endless loop? Does Sam never get to spend time with Adeline between 19 years old until she reappears as Daniele? Wouldn’t that piss him off? Am I missing something?

Hi Gerry, I wanted to reach out and express how much I have enjoyed the Long Winter series. Recently, I delved into Quantum Radio and found it to be a captivating read. This led me to explore the fascinating topic of Quantum Entanglement. Out of curiosity, I'm intrigued to know: What book have you found most enjoyable to write? Additionally, I'm curious about your process for gaining inspiration for your books.
