why did you write "relationship status'??? what is your inspriation about it ??

David Wailing Relationship Status was originally written as a one-off story for a Valentine's Day anthology, so part of the inspiration was writing something with a romantic theme. At that time in 2012, most people I knew were using Facebook to announce or discuss their personal lives, so I wondered what it would be like if the future equivalent of Facebook started deciding your relationship status for you. It seemed to me that people would believe anything social media told them, even if it wasn't true - something that's still the case!
