Stepheny Houghtlin A favorite couple, Guido Brunetti and his wife Paola in the Commissario Guido Brunetti mystery series by Donna Leon, set in Venice. Over time they have grown and changed, remain devoted to one another, allowing room for each of their careers, two children who grow up before your eyes. Brunetti himself is an admirable, kind, intelligent man. A great mystery series, beautifully written, with characters you care about, especially Guido and Paola. Food plays a big part and I would love to sit down to a meal with them.
