What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Lily Black Writers get told to read a lot, and that's excellent advice! I recommend reading intentionally though, at least some of the time. Take note of the way an author pulls you into a scene, or involves your senses so you feel like you're experiencing the story first hand. As you pick up on the tools of the craft that your favorite authors are using, those techniques will naturally infiltrate your own writing!
