Who is your favorite fictional couple, and why?

Sally Saylor De Smet Oh, that's a great question and so hard! In terms of classics - I love Romeo and Juliet, Scarlett and Rhett, and Dickens' Estella and Pip among many others! I tend to like characters that are not straightforward and relationships that do not tie into a bow at the end. There are so many wonderful couples with modern books - too many! I recently finished Gone Girl and watched the movie one late night. I found the Nick and Amy couple interesting because it was hard to figure them out. I'm still unsure! Also loved Alicia and Nash of Beautiful Mind, although it was based on a true story. I enjoyed the way Alicia stood by him without being passive. And I have to say I loved Daphne and Niles always made me smile (Frazier).
