Do you feel your journalistic background influences your style as a writer?

C.H. Clepitt I think it sets me in good stead re pacing, research and working to deadlines. Writing news, interviewing people or reviewing things is different to writing fiction though, they are different skills. I think completing a master's degree in English Literature was the biggest influence on my writing, as I have studied and critiqued a wide variety of classics, and understand structure and pacing. Also, grammar, punctuation, spelling and sentence structure. All very useful as a writer!
