Who is your favorite fictional couple, and why?

Ty Strange There are a few favorite "traditional" couples I could rattle of, Harry and Sally, Jason Borne and Maria, Wesley and Buttercup, but my favorite most enduring fictional couple is Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Why? Simple: the trials and tribulations they share extend beyond the common fictional couple story lines of winning ones affection, atoning for immaturity, or sacrificial behaviors. It's about mutual respect and camaraderie no matter how self-destructive their lives are, always together until the end on their own terms.
