Goodreads asked Don Marler:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Don Marler My advice for aspiring writers is to listen to your inner voice and avoid letting others dissuade you from proceeding with the story you want to reveal. I was told not to write about anything that has to do with child abuse because the subject is repulsive to the general public. After going ahead with my project despite the "naysayers," I learned that it is better to write for a particular group of readers who are receptive to your subject and not the general public if you want readers to read your book.
