Richelle E. Goodrich
“Imagine fantasy and pretend as neither fantastical nor pretended.....and then believe it.”
Richelle E. Goodrich, Making Wishes: Quotes, Thoughts, & a Little Poetry for Every Day of the Year

Sarah J. Maas
“Once it had been second nature to savour the contrast of new grass against dark, tilled soil, or an amethyst brooch nestled in folds of emerald silk; once I'd dreamed and breathed and thought in colour and light and shape. Sometimes I would even indulge in envisioning a day when my sisters were married and it was only me and Father, with enough food to go around, enough money to buy some paint, and enough time to put those colours and shapes down on paper and canvas or the cottage walls.

Not likely to happen anytime soon- perhaps ever. So I was left with moments like this, admiring the glint of pale winter light on snow. I couldn't remember the last time I'd done it- bothered to notice anything lovely or interesting.

Stolen hours in a decrepit barn with Issac Hale didn't count; those times were hungry and empty and sometimes cruel, but never lovely.”
Sarah J. Maas, A Court of Thorns and Roses

Susan L. Marshall
“If I close my weary eyes,
I can shut the dark out,
just for a single moment
and see the world I hope to see.

Unravel its detail does,
so slowly in the dim light.

It is a fragile dream,
half awake, half asleep.
Sketches of a world I yearn to reach.”
Susan L. Marshall, All the Hope We Carry

Mary Simses
“Yeah, this place needs a better-quality blueberry muffin." I raised a pointed finger. "And I could provide it."
"You sound pretty sure of yourself," Jim said, placing a pat of butter on his baked potato.
"And there are always blueberry pies," I said, pausing to think of other possibilities. "Turnovers, cakes, croissants..." I popped the fry into my mouth. "I don't think anybody's done blueberry croissants."
"No," Jim said slowly. "I don't think they have."
"Of course, I'd sell some other things, too. Can't all be blueberries," I mused as I began to envision the bakery- a tray of lemon pound cake, peach cobbler in a fluted casserole, a basket of pomegranate-and-ginger muffins. I could see myself pulling a baking sheet of cookies from the oven, the smell of melted chocolate in the air. There would be white wooden tables and chairs in the front room, and people could order coffee and sandwiches. Maybe even tea sandwiches, like the ones Gran used to make. Cucumber and arugula. Bacon and egg. Curried chicken.”
Mary Simses, The Irresistible Blueberry Bakeshop & Cafe

“An entrepreneur is a person who has programmed his/her mind to envision nothing else but solutions.”
