“Why is it always the actors? When they reach a certain age and level of fame, they feel compelled to lecture society on who to vote for, which army to support in a foreign war, how to raise your children, the need to inject yourself with an experimental drug for the good of the people? Them and a few cult-controlled musicians. You rarely see a famous painter or a sculptor feeling the need to lecture people in this way. Is it because actors are not creators of art but simply interpreters of it and they need to fill some empty void in their egos? I don’t want my favourite creators lecturing me on subjects which should be left to me and my own personal choice just as I do not want my favourite actors doing the same. And then when something like Covid comes along and there are massive breaches of human rights where are the actors then? Their mouths are zipped closed. For to speak out on such real topics where the public may need and welcome their voices would mean their instant cancellation, and they would soon lose their precious fame. With the recent decline of respect for actors globally it may be time for the lecturing types to pull those plywood sticks out from their asses.”
