“It seemed Kaida was a bit too anxious about her mother's estate, all of it, to be exact. It worried Gail.
In a lucid moment, considering that Christmas was again approaching, Gail cleverly devised a quit claim deed giving her property to herself, Elsie, and Melanie with Kaida inheriting her mother’s share at her death. This would repair the damages done by her will. She filed this quit claim deed in a cabinet, meaning to ask an attorney about it with her potential bequests and concerns, but it slipped her mind. Instead, she shopped for gloves and slippers and bought other novelties that Christmas. She forgot to bring the deed to light.”

“Wisdom is achieved when we can let go of our greed
We all have wishes, dreams and ideals for the future. It is good to desire something and work hard for a better life. A burning desire for success can give us strength, motivate us and help us develop our possibilities. But when that desire becomes overloaded with greed, something that was once positive can slowly turn into poison for our thoughts. Many people want to belong and impress others with money, possessions and visible success. When they believe they cannot achieve this through honest work, or not quickly enough, greed can make them believe that crime is the only path left. At that moment, they mainly look at what fast money could bring them and not at everything they could lose through that wrong decision. Anyone who chooses crime does not only put the law aside. Their self respect, the values their parents taught them and the trust of the people around them also come under pressure. Parents can feel sadness and disappointment because the principles and rules they carefully passed on are no longer respected. The desire to impress others then becomes more important than the question of who we truly want to be. When we follow the news and the media, we see often enough that crime does not pay in the end. People can enter a world where violence is not avoided, suspicion is always present and respect gradually loses its meaning. Money is seen as power and as the most important proof of success. The boundaries of the law and humanity are crossed, while the consequences for victims and their families hardly seem to matter. Possible prison sentences, the loss of freedom and the danger of violent conflicts fade into the background. Greed narrows our thinking. The feeling of being unbeatable can become so strong that someone believes they will always remain beyond the reach of the consequences. Money takes up more and more space in their thoughts, while the pain of people who are financially harmed is ignored. What may be a deep wound for a victim is sometimes viewed as a victory by the person responsible. No thought is then given to the damage, sadness and distrust left behind in the lives of others. Yet there is always another path. When we honestly want to achieve something, we can gather knowledge, gain experience and use our full understanding to build success. This often requires more time, discipline and effort, but what is built honestly gives us peace, self respect and a future we can truly be proud of. We do not have to keep looking over our shoulder or fear that everything will be taken away through one discovery or wrong step. Honest success can remain valuable to us for a long time. The knowledge we gain along the way stays with us and grows through every experience. The relationships of trust around us can also become stronger and continue to expand through mutual respect. People then know they can rely on us and that our words and actions are in harmony. The difference is therefore not found in having ambition or wanting to improve our financial situation. The difference is found in the way we try to achieve our goals and in the boundaries we are willing to respect. Success loses its true value when other people must be harmed, deceived or robbed to obtain it. Wealth does not consist only of money or possessions. True wealth can also be found in freedom, trust, a good name, inner peace and the ability to face ourselves and others with dignity. Greed leads people down the wrong path, but principles keep us on the right one. True wealth is found not only in what we possess, but especially in our health, because without health even the greatest fortune loses an important part of its value.
